Social Programs:

The English Language Center itself provides an opportunity for men and women from all walks of life to come together to drink tea and coffee and meet with teachers from Mauritania, England, Scotland, and The United States.   

Classes are small and the Center friendly and relaxed, thus providing the opportunity for students and staff to get to know one another as well as learn English.  Students and staff often make time for excursions outside of the center for mutual cultural exchange; sharing a meal in town or at one another's houses, going to the countryside....   Upon occasion, The English Language Center organizes a barbeque at the beach for students, staff, and their families to relax, eat, share, and have a good time together.

The Headway program itself offers students an excellent format by which to learn to speak, listen, read, and write the English language well.  With regular classes the Headway program assists students with progressive knowledge and fluency in English in a relaxing, friendly environment.    And a cup of Mauritanian tea from our kitchen cafe!
